2,000 Episodes!! Well… somehow we made it! It’s true, we’ve been making Side Hustle School every single day since January 1, 2017. Thanks for tuning in! The best is yet to come. In this short episode, I’m going to do some brief reflecting. I’ll keep it short because I want to keep the focus on you. We have a lot of new listeners. And maybe you’re wondering, hey, what’s this all about? Why I started SHS? It all started with something I noticed in the summer of 2016. I’d been touring for a book that wasn’t really about entreprenuership at all. It just had one brief section about “starting a side hustle.” During my 20-minute talk that I would give before Q&A, I probably spent 40 seconds mentioning that before moving on to the rest of the book—but then, during Q&A, people always returned to it. It was clear that a lot of people didn’t identify with startup culture, but still liked the idea of having extra money, building something on their own that didn’t necessarily have to scale. I dug into that and ended up writing another book at the same time I developed this podcast behind the scenes. In January 2017, we launched the show and it went to #2 on all of iTunes for several days. At the end of the year, I thought, well, let’s do it another year!
