Today's caller has the opposite of most people's problem: her business is going so well that she's overwhelmed by the work.

I have a different sort of problem than most people who struggle to get off the ground: my business is going so well that I'm feeling overwhelmed with the work. I started offering interior design services earlier this year, and I'm now booked up for the next two months. Almost every day there's a new inquiry, and each project takes at least a couple of days. Is it time to raise my prices? I'm worried that if I do, it'll all come crashing down. At the same time, I'm worried I'll never catch up if I don't do something. What do you think?

Good news: there are two big moves that help. First, work on your systems. Create more of a process, write a document answering the questions people commonly ask, and set a dedicated time each week to handle inquiries instead of letting them interrupt you. You might even bring on a virtual assistant to triage the first line of questions.

Second, start charging for initial consultations. That naturally reduces the number of people entering your funnel and makes the ones who do more serious — and you can still deliver real value in the consult. And don't forget why you started this business in the first place.
