Wouldn't it be cool to fly around the world as a courier for companies that need materials delivered quickly? Today's caller remembers the ads and wonders if it's real.
I've heard there are people who get paid to be airline couriers, flying from place to place delivering sensitive documents and maybe some other goods — but nothing sketchy! It's totally legal and is a service that corporations doing a lot of international trade need. Where can I find out more about this opportunity? I'd love to go to Paris for free ... maybe Venice too. But that brings up another point: I don't suppose you get to pick your destinations, do you? If not, where are the most common ones?
For the most part, this is a thing of the past. There just aren't many documents that need hand-delivery around the world anymore — we have DocuSign, secure videoconferencing, and more. Embassies use diplomatic mail bags for some things, but that's different, and they're not hiring couriers on Fiverr.
There are services that sell information on how to become a courier, but it's not worth much, because you largely can't do it. So what's better? If your goal is to travel for free, that's very possible with other strategies. If your goal is to get paid, there are hundreds of ideas to consider. Decide what you actually want, narrow your focus, and plan to travel — but forget the airline courier route.
